They are suitable for\u00a0torque measuring, testing, feedback control of drive\u00a0mechanisms and process control applications.<\/p>\n<p>The SGR series transducers use modern strain gauge\u00a0signal conditioning techniques to provide a high bandwidth\u00a0low cost torque measuring solution with high\u00a0overrange and overload capabilities.<\/p>\n<h6>The TorqSense SGR510\/511\/512 series transducers offer:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SGR510<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Torque measurement only<\/li>\n<li><strong>SGR511<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Torque, speed &amp; power measurement\u00a0<br \/>\n(60 pulses per revolution encoder)<\/li>\n<li><strong>SGR512<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Torque, speed\/angle &amp; power measurement\u00a0(360 pulses per revolution\u00a0incremental encoder)\n<\/li>\n<li>Fixed voltage or current analog outputs for\u00a0interfacing with analog instrumentation. 3 channels\u00a0are available, channel assignment based\u00a0on model.<\/li>\n<li>BIT Self-diagnostics &#8211; Diagnostic system checks\u00a0internal systems and operational conditions for\u00a0faults, and monitors torque, speed and temperature\u00a0for overscale conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Transducer status LED and simple \u201eSensor status\u201c\u00a0output pin, provide transducer health feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Sensors to monitor shaft temperature for better\u00a0compensation and accuracy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Technology<\/h6>\n<p>The SGR series torque transducers use a full four elementstrain gauge bridge to measure the torsion present\u00a0on a shaft. The full bridge helps to diminish errors\u00a0from any off-axis forces that are sometimes unintentionally<br \/>\napplied to the transducer in some test setups.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0full bridge also increases the sensitivity and the temperature\u00a0performance of strain measurement.<\/p>\n<p>A rotor mounted ultra-miniature microcontroller\u00a0measures the strain gauge bridge and transfers the\u00a0information back to the stator digitally eliminating any\u00a0noise pickup usually associated with slip ring and other\u00a0analog methods of transferring torque data from rotor\u00a0to stator. External noise pickup into the gauge wiring is\u00a0virtually eliminated due to the short distance between\u00a0the strain gauge elements and the rotors measuring<br \/>\ncircuits.<\/p>\n<p>A multipoint calibration method reduces any linearity\u00a0errors within the sensor.
