The\u00a0 load cell 1242 is ideally suited for applications such as larger bag fillers and multi-head weighers, where the 1040 load cell is too small and the models 1250\/1260 are too large.<\/p>\n

Because of its very high natural frequency, the 1242 load cell is suited to dynamic measurements with high sampling rates which allows a high production throughput to be achieved.
\nThe typical application areas include belt weighing, check weighing, bag filling and multi-head weighers. The 1242 is also used in industrial applications, such as rail scales and tension measurements as well as measuring cutting and grinding forces.
\nThe Model 1242 like many platform load cell, has a dual beam mechanical design. Each\u00a0load cell<\/a>\u00a0is manufactured using an optimised complex machining process. This ensures that there will be no measurement error when the load is placed off centre, eg in a corner of a platform.<\/p>\n

A platform scale can easily be constructed using this load cell. You simply have to mount the load cell between two steel or aluminium plates up to 400 mm square, securing the bottom plate to the threaded holes in the underside of the load cell (cable entry end) and the top plate to the threaded holes on the upper face (opposite cable entry end). The load cell then has to connected to a suitable display or readout.
\nThe 1242 platform load cell can be supplied with an optional\u00a0 ATEX II 2G EEx ia IIC T4 certificate for use in hazardous gas areas \u2013 Zone 1 & 2.
\nThe 1242 load cell is fitted with a 6 core shielded cable as standard. Special cables and lengths are available on request.<\/p>\n
