Loadstar Sensors iLoad Mini Capacitive Load Cell

The iLoad Mini Digital USB load cell is a miniature version of the iLoad Series patent protected capacitive load cell technology. Since the load cell is just 1.25″ in diameter and only about 0.4 inches high for the dome version, we separated out the signal conditioning from the sensor. The sensor itself outputs a frequency output. You can mate it with a single channel DQ-1000 or DQ-4000 four channel interface and connect via UART/USB and start measuring! An optional analog output is also available to connect with PLCs.

The iLoad Mini Series comes in two versions, one with a stainless steel bodywith an accuracy rating of +/- 0.5% of full scale and one in Aluminum with +/-1 % of full scale. In addition it comes in two types of bodies – one with only a dome that can be used ONLY for compression load cells and one with a threaded stud for tension and/or compression applications. Pick the one suited for your application!
To make it easy to measure, log and plot forces and loads directly on your PC we offer LoadVUE Pro, SensorVUE or ControlVUE software. The built in ASCII command set provides an easy to use API to build your own custom applications on any platform including the MacOs, Arduino or Linux (Raspberry Pi). Connect iLoad Mini to an Arduino, DAQ, or Voltmeter easily.

If you are looking for a compact, miniature Load Cell to measure loads and forces over short time periods in a temperature controlled indoor environment, you will not find a better or more convenient load cell than the iLoad Mini digital load cell! it is priced at a bargain price compared to similar sized load cells!

  • Capacities
    iLoad Mini load cells are available in 10 lb, 50 lb, 100 lb, 200 lb capacities. For higher capacities take a look at the iLoad Mini Pro load cells.

  • Calibration Mode
    The iLoad Mini Dome load cells can only be used for compression measurements. The iLoad Mini with threaded Stud is usable for Compression measurements or Tension measurements or Both (Universal). Select appropriate calibration.

  • Accuracy Class & Compensated Temperature Range
    +/- 0.5% (Stainless Steel) to +/- 1% (Aluminum) of Full Scale from 10C to 40C non-condensing

  • Built in API
  • The DQ-1000U or DQ-4000U devices offer ASCII command set to write your own software using Python, C, C++. C#, LabVIEW, Matlab and other languages. Basic output is Frequency from the load cell.


  • Mounting
    Threaded Mounting Holes on base of Load Cell. Threaded stud on one side for that configuration for attaching female rod-ends. Use with TX-125 or IX-125 tension adapter for symmetrical mounting options.

  • UART/USB Output
    Use with a DQ-1000U to get output via UART to connect with Arduino or other microprocessors. Add an S2U Serial to USB adapter to connect with PC/Mac/Linux machines via USB.

    Optional Analog Output
    Use with a DQ-1000A for 0-5 VDC Output. Comes with a terminal block for easy access to the Tx,Rx digital pins as well as the 0-5V DC Analog Output pins.

    Unique Feature
    iLoad Mini offers frequency output instead of low level analog voltage output. it has a four pin design with two pins for power (5V DC), one for frequency output and one for control pin to get frequency from the sensor capacitor and one from the reference capacitor.

    Miniature load cell design with low profile, low weight packaging. Great for room temperature moderate accuracy applications in controlled steady state room temperatures.
