Load cell – pancake KMC230

Robust load cell for high forces up to 500 kN

The KMC230 series is a load cell—also known as a pancake or compression disk—designed for compressive forces up to 500 kN. Its robust design and the defined force introduction via an M40 thread ensure stable and precise force transmission.

Despite its high rated force, the KMC230 features a comparatively low overall height of only 60 mm, making it easy to integrate into machines and systems. The corrosion-protected measuring element made of nickel-plated steel is equipped with a full Wheatstone strain gauge bridge. Linearity is max. 0.05%, hysteresis max. 0.03%, and repeatability max. 0.03% of full scale.

As standard, each KMC230 is supplied with a test report confirming the accuracy of the measurement results. A shielded 6 m cable ensures reliable signal transmission, even over longer distances. With protection class IP66, the KMC230 is reliably protected against dust and water jets.

Typical applications include presses, test rigs, vehicle scales, large tank scales, and other industrial environments where high compressive forces occur.

Compared to many standard pancake load cells, the KMC230 stands out through its combination of high rated force, robust construction, low-profile design, and reliable protection class.

For series production, additional customer-specific modifications are possible, e.g. modified mounting dimensions, customized cables, or connector variants.
